E-TECH 50mm Wide (2") Heat Wrap - non coated

Availability:
E-TECH non-coated woven exhaust wrap helps increase horsepower by retaining the hot gases, while decreasing their density, thus allowing them to exit the system faster. It also reduces radiant heat damage and under bonnet temperatures by as much as 50%.
The fibre glass material is heat rated to approx 550°C
Features:
- Improves the scavenging of exhaust gases
- Maintains hotter exhaust gases that exit the system faster through decreased density
- Withstands continuous heat up to 550°C (1022°F)
- Contains no asbestos
E-TECH Heatwrap size: 25mm (2") x 5m Long
Colour: White
Material: Fibre glass woven construction
Heat rated: up to 550°C (approx)
2" (50mm) exhaust wrap is recommended for use on exhaust pipe outside diameters of between 1 3/4" (45mm) - 4" (100mm)
Equipment required:
- Scissors or knife for cutting the wrap to the desired lengths
- Dust Mask
- Safety Glasses
- Long Sleeves on clothing (optional)
Wrapping Tips:
- Wrapping exhausts and exhaust manifolds can be a little time consuming. Make sure that you allow a good amount of time to achieve a good result.
- Make sure the wrap is as tight as possible as this will help to hols the wrap in position and retain the most heat in the system
Wrapping Steps:
- Start at the end of the pipe or flange of the manifold by folding the first part of the exhaust wrap back on itself 20mm (3/4") at the leading edge of the exhaust wrap. Make sure this folded section is placed on the exhaust pipe to start your wrap as it will reduce fraying at the end.
- Complete one full wrap around the pipe so it is flush with the end of the pipe or flange. Continue wrapping around the pipe at an angle and working to achieve an overlap of approx 20mm (3/4"). Keeping tension on the wrap as you work it around the pipe 3 more times to secure it in position.
- Once you get to this point we recommend using one of our Multi-Purpose Stainless Steel Cable Ties (part numbers - 450201,450362,800362) to secure the wrap at the beginning of the pipe or flange.
- After securing then you can continue to wrap the exhaust as done previously with the 20mm (3/4") overlap.
- If the primary manifold tubes become to close together to wrap individually then you can wrap them multiple times together.
- On the final pass around the exhaust pipe again fold the last piece of exhaust wrap back on itself 20mm 3/4") and make sure the folded section is facing the pipe side. Secure this with another of our Multi-Purpose Stainless Steel Cable Ties.
- Continue with the next section of pipe work until you are complete
Please note: The exhaust wrap will smoke when it gets hot for a short period of time after installation. The smoke is non toxic and part of the curing process.
