PREPARATION - THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT
• Clean the surface thoroughly; remove all traces of dust, silicone, polish, wax, dirt, grease, rust etc.
Use a cleaner non-injurious to paintwork e.g: Pre-paint degreaser. We recommend using our E-TECH Technik Surface Deep Cleaner (Part No ER00102).
• Dry the surface thoroughly.
• Only spray in a well ventilated, warm, dry and dust free area.
• For best results ensure can and item you are spraying are at room temperature before use (approx. 17°C to 25°C).
• Avoid spraying in cold, damp, humid weather or onto hot surfaces.
COMPATABILITY TEST: We recommend you perform a test spray on a small inconspicuous area to ensure
you are happy with the performance and colour of this product.
PAINTING INSTRUCTIONS
• Before painting we recommend that you apply a coat of suitable primer. Use a white or grey primer as this will enhance the paint’s metallic properties. For metals, alloys, fibreglass and glass we recommend using an Etch Primer (E-TECH Part No: ER00112). For wood, stone, rigid plastics* and ceramics we recommend using a standard primer (E-TECH Part No: ER00109).
*Some rigid plastics may require a specialist plastic primer base coat (E-TECH Part No: ER00110).
• Allow primer to dry before lightly sanding with a fine grade abrasive paper to maximise adhesion of the paint.
• Shake can of metallic paint vigorously for a minimum of 2 minutes.
• Adjust nozzle to suit your requirement. Rotate nozzle to the desired position (perform a few test sprays first).
• Hold can 20-30cm (8”-12”) from surface and spray using a smooth side to side motion.
• Shake can between coats, slowly building up the layers with several thin coats allowing approximately 15 minutes between coats to dry to a tacky film. Do not apply thick coats.
• After applying the final coat allow 12 hours for the paint to dry**
**The drying time depends on the ambient air temperature, the humidity of the air and the thickness of the paint applied.
After use turn can upside down, spray until the nozzle is clear.
For a durable hi-gloss finish that seals the painted surface we recommend using E-TECH Pro Finish Clear Coat Lacquer (E-TECH Part No: ER00166).
Please note lacquer is not suitable for use on surfaces that exceed 120°C.
