- Thoroughly clean the area where the E-TECH Sill Guard is going to be fitted. Important - This area must be completely free of all traces of oil, grease, wax, dirt, dust and moisture. Clean with a degreaser or proprietary cleaner (non injurious to paintowrk)
- Do not fit in temperatures below 13ºC (55ºF) as this affects the adhesion of the product. If the temperature is below 13ºC (55ºF), warm the E-TECH Sill Guard up and the area where it is going to be fitted with a hair dryer, or fit in a warm garage.
- Take care not to stretch the SIll Guard while installing as it will contract over time
- Measure the area to be protected and trim SIll Guard to the required length, width and shape. If you are cutting to a specific shape, for a more accurate fit it is advisable to first cut a paper/card template.
- Cut off the leading edge of the excess backing paper so it is flush with the Sill Guard. This will make it easier to peel off the Sill Guard, whilst ensuring the adhesive is still applied to it and not left on the backing paper.
- Peel back only 1 or 2 inches of backing paper and fold this down to leave a flap.
- Stick the end of the E-TECH SIll Guard in position and rub down. Then pull the flap of the backing paper away from the SIll Guard a few centimetres at a time and slowly stick the rest of it in position, rubbing down firmly as you go to remove any air bubbles.
