SURFACE PREPARATION - IMPORTANT: READ THIS
• For best results ensure the bodywork or part you are working on and the can are at room temperature before use (approx 17°C to 21°C)
• For best results apply in a warm, dry and dust free area
• Clean area to be primed thoroughly; remove all traces of dust, silicone, polish, wax, dirt, grease etc. We recommend using our E-Tech Technik Surface Deep Cleaner (Part No. ER00102)
• Sand the surface area to be primed/painted with a fine grade abrasive paper and remove any loose paint or filler. Wash and dry the area to be painted thoroughly to remove any dust and debris. Once again we recommend using our E-Tech Surface Deep Cleaner as a final cleanse
• Mask off any area that you do not want to be painted or that is subject to overspray i.e. lights, rubber or plastic trim etc
• If you have an area of plastic that is NOT already covered by the original paintwork or filler we recommend that you spray this area with our E-Tech Technik Plastic Pre-Primer (Part No. ER00110)
TECHNIK PRIMER APPLICATION
• Shake can vigorously for a minimum of 2 minutes
• Hold can 20-30cm (8-12") from the surface and spray using a smooth side to side motion
• Slowly build up the layers with several thin coats allowing approximately 10 minutes between coats to dry to a tacky film. 2 to 3 coats should be enough
• Allow primer to dry for approximately 2 hours before lightly sanding with a very fine grade abrasive paper then wash and dry the area to be painted thoroughly to remove any dust and debris
• The primed area is now ready to have the top coat of paint applied
After use turn the can upside down, spray until the nozzle is clear or remove nozzle and soak in thinners.
